Walther Trowal expands in Mexico

0

Our subsidiary in Mexico, Walther Trowal S.A de C.V in Querétaro, has been so successful since it was founded in 2018 that we are constantly expanding it:
We recently hired additional sales staff and are doubling our warehouse space to around 1,000 m². This enables us to offer our customers in Central and South America qualified advice and service on site, trials at our test & training center in Querétaro and fast delivery of equipment and spare parts directly from our warehouse.

There are currently 15 employees working at the branch, and the customer base includes around 150 customers from the automotive, aerospace, electronics and medical technology industries who operate systems for mass finishing and coating small mass-produced parts.

Competent advice on site

Four sales employees, all engineers with experience in the manufacturing industry, advise customers in Mexico and support the representatives in Chile and Colombia. In the Test and Training Center (TTC) in Querétaro, which is equipped with several mass finishing machines, interested parties and customers can carry out tests with their own work pieces. Together with the employees, solutions are quickly developed that are optimally adapted to the specific conditions at the customer’s plant. We also hold regular training courses for the operators of our machines at the TTC.

Visitors test their workpieces on a CB rotary vibrator.
Several machines are available for trials.

„That’s why our local presence is very important to us: we can respond immediately to inquiries from Mexican customers. Our engineers are quickly on site to help solve problems. This sets us apart from many other suppliers.“

Fast delivery

Another key factor is the significantly increased stock of machines, spare parts and consumables. We deliver most equipment and spare parts from stock within one to two weeks, sometimes within three to four days only.

Christoph Cruse has worked hard to establish the subsidiary in Mexico: “The automotive industry in particular is relocating more and more production lines from the USA, Europe and Japan to Mexico. The country is and will remain an extended workbench for the automotive industry in North America, as combustion engines will continue to be needed and built in the USA and Canada for the foreseeable future due to the lack of electrical infrastructure. In the metalworking sector alone, there are more than 6,000 companies in Mexico, with more than 50 employees each.”

We supply process materials and spare parts directly from our large stock.

He continues: “We mainly supply production companies in Mexico. Things have to move quickly if there is a risk of processes being disrupted. That’s why our local presence is very important to us: We can respond immediately to inquiries from Mexican customers. Our engineers are quickly on site to help solve problems. This sets us apart from many other suppliers. Our customers particularly appreciate this additional service, as it helps them to keep production running and save costs.”

M. Sc. and MBA Salvador Carillo manages the branch. After studying mechanical engineering in Karlsruhe/Germany, he gained his first professional experience at Bosch in Stuttgart and then worked in Mexico for a company of German origin that manufactures aluminum die-cast parts. This is where he came into contact with Walther Trowal. After starting the agency in 2018, he and his wife Brenda, who manages logistics and commercial matters, were the first employees at the newly founded branch.

Cruse: “Salvador knows Mexican customs, laws and guidelines on the one hand and German culture on the other. He has proven in many projects that the overall package of application technology solutions and competent service ultimately leads to the success of his customers.”
