From Haan via China back to Haan

Trowalizing – a term that is also known in the Far East

Already as a student I noticed the Walther Trowal trucks in Haan, which were regularly driving through town. Many years later – on the occasion of a business trip to China – a customer mentioned the „Trowalizing“ process. This triggered memories from my school days: The process had been invented in Haan. And in the Middle Kingdom I became aware that the trucks were moving goods for a globally known “hidden champion“.

Back in Haan I came across a Walther Trowal job offer that perfectly matched my academic field of studies, namely process engineering.

Optimizing finishing processes

Today I am doing what Walther Trowal has been doing over many decades: Analyzing the customer needs and optimizing their production. In our activities we focus on the process, not the equipment. I am in daily contact with customers in the near vicinity. In addition, I coordinate the sales activities for the German state of Bavaria as well as Austria and France.

The AM 2 for finishing the surface of 3D printed components combines excellent finishing results with short cycle times and a high cost efficiency.

A pioneer in the field of additive manufacturing

I have worked on numerous projects, from their beginning all the way to their introduction into the market. One example is the “post processing of 3D printed components”, specifically the surface refinement of products made by additive manufacturing.  In this field we cooperate with the Direct Manufacturing Research Center (DMRC), which is part of the university in Paderborn. You can learn more about the subject „Additive Manufacturing“
